This remarkable achievement underscores the programme\u2019s dedication to academic excellence and its pivotal role in shaping the next generation of internists who contribute significantly to the UAE\u2019s healthcare sector.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Next year, SKMC\u2019s Internal Medicine Residency Programme will celebrate its 20th anniversary as an accredited training programme. Established in 2005, the programme offers a rigorous four-year postgraduate training curriculum certified by the Arab Board of Medical Specialisations. Since 2017, it has also held dual accreditation with the Jordanian Board, ensuring graduates are equipped with the highest standards of medical expertise and professionalism.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The programme has built a strong legacy of excellence, highlighted by its Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education-International (ACGME-I) accreditation in 2013. Most recently, in late 2022, it became one of the first residency programmes in the UAE to receive recognition from the National Institute of Health Sciences (NIHS) under the new Emirati Board framework. These milestones reflect SKMC\u2019s commitment to maintaining international benchmarks and continuously improving training standards.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dr Waqar Gaba, Programme Director of the SKMC<\/strong> Internal Medicine Residency Programme for the past three years, expressed his pride in this significant achievement: \u201cReaching the milestone of our 100th graduate is a testament to the dedication and expertise of our faculty, the commitment of our residents, and the unwavering support of SKMC.
